Karate was developed over a thousand years ago, not only as a form of unarmed combat but as a way to discipline the body in order to improve the spirit.
In this way, the unity of body and spirit can be achieved. It is a combination of physical and mental training of the art of self-defense, which requires a healthy body, a sound spirit and a refined character.
Stott Pilates is a version of the Pilates method of physical exercise. It was developed by Lindsay and Moira Merrithew, with the collaboration of physical therapists, and sports medicine and fitness professionals.
Stott Pilates focuses on maintaining the natural curvature of the spine.
What Is Yoga?
Yoga is an ancient science originating in India many thousands of years ago. Yoga means to unite or yolk. It is the uniting of the body with the mind and the soul.
The purpose of yoga is to still the wandering mind and return it to a calm and serene state. Both medical science and the yogic world know that there is a link between body and mind. The practice of yoga makes the body supple and relaxed and in turn relaxes the mind, using physical postures, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation.
